Day 1 : Phnom Penh – Tonle Bali
– Takeo – Phnom Da - Kep Kampot ( -/L/D )
DAY 1
Depart from Phnom Penh for Kep. En route, stop at
Tonle Bati
and visit
Ta Prohm
temple (12th-13th
centuries) and
Yeay Peau
temple (12th
century). Visit the
Prasat Neang Khmao,
the temple of the Black Virgin (10th
century) and visit a silk weaving village before proceeding
to
Takeo.
Lunch at local restaurant.
Take a boat from Takeo to
Phnom Da
(please note that the speedboat does not have a cover or any
shade - hat and sun tan cream essential).
Visit Phnom Da temple (the climb up is easy as this
particular Phnom "hill" is not very high. The path up to the
temple is steep, over some big rocks), a pre-Angkorian late
rite tower (6th
century) and
Asram Maharoseil
(6th
century), an Indian-style sandstone temple constructed in a
style unlike any other temple in Cambodia. Return to Takeo
by boat Kep, formerly known as Kep-sur-Mer. This beautiful
coastal area was once the favorite holiday spot for
Cambodia's French-influenced elite. Dinner and overnight at
The Beach House in Kep.
Day 2 : KEP - RABBIT ISLAND -
KAMPOT - KEP (B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel.
Enjoy a half-day boat trip to
Rabbit Island
(Koh Tunsay) and discover the beautiful and pristine
scenery. Lunch.
In the afternoon, drive to
Kampot
and enjoy a tour of this quiet town which has preserved some
nice colonial architecture houses. Stop at the market and
continue your day with a
boat trip on the pristine
Kamchay River.
Return to Kep. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at
The Beach House.
Day 3 : KEP - Phnom Penh (B/L/-)
Breakfast at hotel.
Enjoy a morning at leisure in Kep.
Lunch at hotel.
In the afternoon, drive back to Phnom
Penh.
